A 20-year-old Mumbai man, Yogesh Shinde, suffered two skull fractures after a violent attack by his gym trainer, Dharavi Nakel. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows Shinde exercising when Nakel suddenly strikes him on the head with a “Mugdar,” a traditional wooden club used in akharas.
In the footage, Shinde is seen working out as Nakel picks up the club and approaches him. Without warning, Nakel violently hits Shinde on the head, causing immediate pain and injury. Other gym-goers quickly intervened, pulling Nakel away to prevent further harm.
Shinde, clutching his head, sat on a bench in visible agony. Reports suggest the attack was triggered by an angry glance from Shinde. The Navghar police have since registered a case and arrested Nakel in connection with the assault.
