Kamal Haasan's Demands: The Hidden Strain on Indian 2 Producers Behind the Scenes

Kamal Haasan’s illustrious cinematic career can be distinctly divided into two phases: before and after the release of the film “Vikram.” Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Vikram” marked the beginning of Kamal’s second innings in the film industry.

Produced at a budget of ₹200 crores, “Vikram” amassed an impressive ₹560 crores worldwide, generating substantial profits for Kamal’s production house, Raj Kamal Films. This financial success enabled Kamal to rejuvenate his company and sign agreements to produce several new films.

Before the success of “Vikram,” Kamal’s salary was ₹70 crores. However, the blockbuster hit allowed him to hike his fee to ₹120 crores, with his earnings now surpassing ₹140 crores depending on the role. For his upcoming role as a villain in Prabhas’ “Kalki,” Kamal’s fee has reportedly reached ₹150 crores.

Recently, Kamal Haasan has been busy promoting “Indian 2.” At the age of 70, his enthusiasm has been celebrated by fans. However, this energy has come at a cost to the film’s producer.

Behind the scenes, Kamal’s demands have reportedly caused significant strain. Whenever he travels to cities like Hyderabad, Cochin, or Mumbai, he insists on having 10 personal gym assistants sent ahead to prepare everything for him. He also travels exclusively by private plane and stays only in five-star hotels, regardless of the destination’s proximity. These expenses, alongside his substantial salary, have reportedly been a source of considerable frustration for the producer.
