A significant collaboration might be brewing between two giants of Indian cinema—Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and renowned Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. Recent reports suggest that the duo has been in discussions, exploring several possibilities, including a potential cameo in Rajinikanth’s eagerly awaited film Coolie, or even the creation of a standalone feature film.
According to a source cited by Pinkvilla, “They have met and are considering multiple options… we’ll have to wait and see which one materializes.” However, it’s important to note that no official confirmation has been made by either party as of yet.
Additionally, earlier reports hinted that Aamir Khan and Lokesh Kanagaraj might collaborate on a film produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The latest developments seem to reinforce these speculations, potentially leading to a blockbuster project that could see Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth sharing the screen for the first time.
Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy filming Coolie, a high-octane action thriller featuring Rajinikanth. The movie reportedly began shooting in Hyderabad in July 2024 and is expected to hit theaters in the latter half of 2025.
A title teaser for Coolie was recently released, showcasing Rajinikanth in his signature powerful style, taking down anyone who stands in his way. The film’s music is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
On the other hand, Aamir Khan was last seen in the 2022 film Laal Singh Chaddha. He is now gearing up for his next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, a sports drama directed by RS Prasanna. This film, scheduled for release next year, is based on the 2018 Spanish film Champions and will feature Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead.
