Venkat Prabhu is steadily making his mark as a prominent director in Tamil cinema, with more than six films under his belt. He recently completed directing GOAT featuring Vijay, which is scheduled for release on September 5th. The trailer, released recently, has garnered a positive response, and now producer Archana Kalpathi has shed some light on the film’s status.
Venkat Prabhu first made his directorial debut with Chennai 600028, a film centered around friendship and cricket that became a major hit. Despite being his first film, it received praise for the maturity and finesse typically expected from a seasoned director.
Following the success of his debut, he directed Saroja, another hit that solidified his reputation, especially in the thriller genre. However, his next film, Goa, while not commercially successful, was still appreciated by fans for its casual, entertaining approach.
Venkat Prabhu’s career reached new heights with Mangatha, which became a milestone as Ajith’s 50th film and a massive blockbuster. The film’s twist was particularly well-received, firmly establishing Prabhu as one of Tamil cinema’s top directors. He even prepared for a sequel to Mangatha.
However, not all of his subsequent films were hits. After a few setbacks, he regained his footing with Maanaadu and continued to build momentum with Custody. Now, all eyes are on GOAT, starring Vijay, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and others. Fans are eagerly anticipating that Venkat Prabhu will deliver another mega-hit, this time for Vijay, just as he did for Ajith. The film is set for release on September 5th.
Regarding the film’s release, producer Archana Kalpathi recently provided an update. She acknowledged the speculation surrounding the film’s Key Delivery Message (KDM) timing, stating, “There have been many guesses about the KDM timing. We are making sure to get the censor certification right and deliver the movie on time. As of now, we haven’t finalized the movie’s running time, but we will soon announce the show timings worldwide.”
