In a recent meeting, actor Ajith Kumar discussed the possibility of working on two new films with director Prashanth Neel. The first film could be a standalone project, while the second one could be connected to the world of Yash’s successful KGF franchise. The report suggests that these projects will take at least a year to get launched and will be produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films. The two films are expected to be released in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
Ajith Kumar is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film “Vidaa Muyarchi”, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Diwali 2024. After wrapping up this project, he will move on to filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran’s “Good Bad Ugly”.
The meeting between Ajith and Prashanth Neel took place when the actor was on a break from the shooting of “Vidaa Muyarchi”. Prashanth reportedly asked Ajith for three years of time, which means that the projects are likely to start production in 2025.
The first film, reportedly titled AK 64, will be a standalone project and is expected to release in 2026. The second film, which could be Ajith’s 65th or 66th film, will serve as a lead-up to KGF 3 and feature Ajith in a pivotal role. According to the report, Ajith’s character will be the biggest in Prashanth Neel Cinematic Universe, and it is possible that Yash and Ajith may share screen space in KGF 3.
The official announcement of the project is expected to be made in 2025. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel has two other projects in the pipeline – “Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam” and an untitled film with Jr NTR. It remains to be seen if he will find time to work on Ajith’s project between these two commitments.
