How 4 Brave Army Soldiers Fought Against Terrorists in J&K

Four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, lost their lives during an encounter with terrorists in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The operation was a joint effort between the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, initiated based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the Desa area of Doda.

The confrontation with the terrorists began around 9 pm, leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire. The Indian Army reported on social media platform X that there were initial injuries to the soldiers during the encounter. According to officials, at least five soldiers were critically injured in this intense firefight.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has been in communication with the Indian Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, to assess the ground situation and the ongoing operation in Doda. This incident marks the second major encounter in the Jammu region within a week, following the tragic loss of five soldiers in Kathua.

The recent attack involved a coordinated strike on two military trucks, resulting in the use of grenades, armor-piercing bullets, and an M4 assault rifle by the terrorists. The resurgence of terrorist activities, which initially started in the Poonch and Rajouri districts, has now spread across Jammu. Over the past 32 months, 48 soldiers have been killed in action in this region, and reports suggest that over 60 foreign terrorists trained in jungle warfare may be operating in Jammu. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Army to employ its full anti-terror capabilities to eradicate terrorism in the region.
