In the aftermath of a devastating landslide in Wayanad district, search and rescue operations have entered their fourth day with intensified efforts. A formidable contingent of 40 teams, including specialized dog squads, commenced their operations at 7 am, determined to locate survivors and recover the deceased.
A significant milestone in the rescue efforts was the completion of a 190-foot-long Bailey bridge, which has enabled the movement of heavy machinery into the worst-affected areas. This crucial infrastructure development has facilitated a more effective response to the disaster.
To streamline the search operations, the district has been divided into six zones, each targeted for thorough investigation. The joint rescue teams comprise personnel from various forces, alongside local volunteers, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive approach.
