Ashish Nehra, the head coach of Gujarat Titans (GT), and Vikram Solanki, the Director of Cricket, are reportedly set to leave the franchise ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Both Nehra and Solanki have been integral parts of the Gujarat Titans since their debut season in 2022, during which they won the title and reached the finals again in 2023.
GT is currently in talks with former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh to join the coaching staff, though no final decision has been made. These significant changes for GT have been anticipated since Gary Kirsten, the team’s mentor, departed to take a full-time role with the Pakistan cricket team.
āThere are likely to be many changes. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are probably moving on, and discussions about Yuvraj Singh have begun. While nothing is confirmed, we may see some major changes in the Gujarat Titansā coaching staff,ā a source was quoted as saying in the report.
Support staff members Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi, and Mithun Manhas may also be exploring opportunities elsewhere. After a remarkable debut in the IPL, the Titans experienced a disappointing 2024 season, finishing eighth under their new captain, Shubman Gill.
